UnitedHealthcare’s Exit from NC’s Insurance Marketplace

~ Published on April 22, 2016 by Willona Stallings ~

By now, I am sure you have all heard the news that UnitedHealthcare (UHC) is pulling out of the Health Insurance Marketplace in North Carolina. While this is certainly unfortunate, it is important to note the following:

  1. This change will take effect in 2017. It does not affect 2016 UHC plans.

  2. Help is available!

    If you’re a consumer
and have questions about how UHC’s exit from the Marketplace might affect you and your family, please contact an enrollment assister or agent/broker. To schedule an appointment with an assister, please dial 1-855-733-3711 or log onto the Get Covered Connector.

If you’re an assister or ACA advocate and need help talking about this issue with members of the community or perhaps the media, please request a copy of Enroll America’s talking points on Insurers Pulling out of the Marketplace. You can email your request to Enroll America’s Communications Director, Lovemore Masakadza, at LMasakadza@enrollamerica.org.
