Our next NC Get Covered meeting will take place on Friday, July 19 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Community Care of North Carolina (Training Room), located at 2300 Rexwoods Drive, Ste. 100, Raleigh. Representatives from Wake County Government and the Atlanta Regional Census Center will join us to talk about the intersection between Medicaid and ACA Marketplace enrollment as well as the U.S. Census 2020 and why an accurate count is so important.
We hope to see you there! If you wish to participate in the meeting remotely, we will send out a Webinar link early next week.
Last but not least, you may have seen in the news where a three-judge panel from the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans heard oral arguments on the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act on Tuesday. For the back story on this, please click here to read a previous NC Get Covered announcement from late March regarding the matter. You can also read a recent summary by Kaiser Health News here. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has not yet issued a ruling, and the fight could even make its way to the Supreme Court. The critical thing to remember is that, as of right now, the ACA is still the law of the land, and consumers with 2019 Marketplace coverage should continue paying their monthly premium and using their insurance benefits.
Be well,
NC Get Covered staff
