One of the unfortunate effects of the COVID-19 pandemic – in addition to individuals becoming ill and unable to work – is that they may lose their health insurance coverage if they lose their job. If you know someone in this situation, let them know that free help is available, but they must act fast!
North Carolinians who lost their health coverage due to COVID-19 are eligible to enroll in an ACA Marketplace plan via HealthCare.gov. This opportunity is made available through a Special Enrollment Period that lasts up to 60 days from the date the consumer lost coverage.
Those who have questions or need help enrolling in a plan can schedule a FREE appointment with a local assister by: 1) calling 1-855-733-3711 toll-free, 2) visiting NCNavigator.net, or 3) completing an electronic commit card in English or Spanish to have an assister from their local area contact them directly.
Thank you for sharing this important information with others you know! May it offer a little hope to those facing significant challenges at this time.
Be well,
